Guiding Good Choices

This workshop empowers parents with the skills and knowledge to keep their families drug-free. The workshop is for parents of with youth between the ages of 9 to 14 years old. It is offered free to Broward County residents at various sites throughout the county. Guiding Good Choices  (GGC) is comprised of five 2-hour sessions held over five consecutive weeks.

GGC has been judged a "Model Program" by the federal government's Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The United Way of Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse coordinates the delivery of this program in Broward County through a consortium of adult substance abuse providers licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families. GGC was developed by Drs. Richard Catalano and J. David Hawkins and is a product of the Channing Bete Company.
