Community & Family Enrichment Initiatives
The United Way of Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse (UWBCCSA) recognizes that parents are the number one prevention tool in keeping youth drug-free. The UWBCCSA empowers family members and the community to raise resilient and drug-free youth. Our Community & Family Enrichment Initiatives incorporate comprehensive, community-based substance use/abuse prevention strategies for adults in Broward County.
Our ultimate goal is to provide parents and family members with the knowledge and resources to prevent, identify, and respond to substance use/abuse in our Broward County youth. Today's youth are faced with many risks, some of which have never been faced before, such as the advent of technology's influence on drugs, sex, and violence, but we know that the alcohol and drug use remains one the greatest risks in the lives of Broward County youth today.
