United Way of Broward County Teams Up with the Community Foundation of Broward and Jewish Community Foundation to Host 13th Annual Joint Tax Seminar

United Way of Broward County, Community Foundation of Broward and Jewish Community Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Broward County are once again joining forces to host the 13th Annual Joint Tax and Estate Planning Seminar and Breakfast. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Nova Southeastern University’s Rose and Alfred Miniaci Theater.  The goal of this annual seminar is to provide an educational forum designed especially for professionals in the estate and trust services arena. It also offers an opportunity for the attendees to learn more about these three major philanthropic organizations in Broward County that significantly impact quality of life for people in the community.

The seminar will kick off with a networking breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by a continuing education program from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The event co-chairs include James B. Davis, Esq. of Gunster; Mark A. Krill of BB&T Bank; and Penelope Blair of U.S. Trust Bank of American Private Wealth Management.

Samuel A. Donaldson, J.D., LL.M., Professor of Law at Georgia State University, will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.  He will present on “Income Tax Planning for Estate Planners: Doing Well by Doing Good - A Winning Combination”.  Mr. Donaldson is an award-winning law professor and has authored, and co-authored, many books; including the Price on Contemporary Estate Planning treatise and the forthcoming West casebook, Federal Income Tax: A Contemporary Approach.  Over 500 attorneys, certified public accountants, investment consultants, financial advisors and business professionals are expected to attend.
