United Way of Broward County announces that Matt Shore, President of Steven Douglas Associates, will chair the organization’s 2011 fundraising workplace campaign, which officially kicks off on August 25. Shore will be instrumental in setting fundraising goals, recruiting and motivating committee volunteers, and meeting with community leaders to support the fundraising efforts of United Way of Broward County. Last year, United Way of Broward County exceeded its revenue goal by 10% and plans to raise more than $13 million this year.
“United Way of Broward County is pleased to have Matt as this year’s chair,” said Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., President and CEO of United Way of Broward County. “His leadership, passion and devotion to United Way make him the ideal candidate to lead the committee.”
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the 2011 United Way campaign in Broward County,” said Matt Shore. “My wife Casey and I are very passionate about giving back and we feel strongly that United Way allows us to help the people that need it the most, right here where we live and thrive.”
Shore leads Steven Douglas Associates (SDA), which is a boutique executive search and project-based professional services firm based in Broward County. The firm’s clients include organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in various industries. SDA is a leader in providing company’s access to talent in the areas of Accounting/Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources and Wealth Management. Under his leadership, SDA has garnered various honors including the “Good to Great” award (GMCC-2010) and has been on the Best Companies to Work for List (SFBJ - 2009 and 2010).
Shore received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Florida. Throughout his career, Matt has been active in many civic organizations including the United Way, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Jason Taylor Foundation, and University of Florida Foundation to name a few. He is currently a United Way of Broward County Board member, as well as the 2011-2012 Broward County Campaign Chair and the former Tocqueville Society Executive Committee Chairman – 2010. He and his wife are also Co-Chairs for the annual “Taste of South Florida” Gala benefiting Cystic Fibrosis (2009, 2010 and 2011).
