United Way of Broward County is launching its Teachers Rock campaign through September, asking Broward County residents to tell their most inspiring stories about teachers that changed their lives. As a strong message of support for teachers in the community, the stories will be posted on United Way of Broward County’s website and shared through local media outlets.

The campaign is led by United Way of Broward County’s Empowering Effective Teachers Task Force, a broad coalition of educators, community and corporate leaders that develop policy recommendations and actions supporting effective teachers and ensure Broward County children’s success. The overall goal of the Teachers Rock campaign is to pay tribute to teachers and support good teaching.

“Teachers Rock is an amazing way to show our teachers how much they are appreciated,” said Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., President and CEO of United Way of Broward County. “Through research, we know the single most significant influence on student achievement schools can control is an effective teacher, so we need to recognize and support those teachers who inspired so many.”

To submit your story, download the Teachers Rock submission form from www.unitedwaybroward.org  and email it to teachersrock@unitedwaybroward.org.
