TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation, recently donated a total of $11,700 to United Way of Broward County as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community.

United Way of Broward County is working to advance the common good through its Community Impact Areas:  Education, Income and Health, including programs focusing on Substance Abuse prevention and treatment through United Way of Broward County’s Commission on Substance Abuse. These are the building blocks for a good life – a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.

The organization will use the funds from the TD Charitable Foundation to benefit the United Way Community Investment Fund. United Way of Broward County has the ability to leverage each dollar contributed towards this fund into $4 through matching grants.

“We are honored that TD Bank and its TD Charitable Foundation have granted United Way of Broward County this wonderful gift,” said Chief Operations Officer, Daniel Kearns. “We are grateful to have corporate supporters like TD Bank who are committed to strengthening our community.”

A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® and the TD Charitable Foundation provide financial and other support to affordable housing initiatives, financial literacy and education and the environment, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.
