United Way of Broward County’s Women’s Leadership Council announces Elizabeth Cambareri the group’s incoming chair and Anna White the incoming vice chair. Both women bring a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and diverse experience to the Women’s Leadership Council Steering Committee and will begin their one-year tenure this month.

South Florida United Ways Partner to Launch Major Asset Building Initiative

United Ways of Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties announce the launch of Bank On South Florida, an asset-building campaign for individuals to increase their financial stability. The campaign focuses on low-income households who are either unbanked (no checking or savings account) or under-banked (have an account, but continue to rely on alternative financial services), in order to strengthen their financial future through financial education and affordable bank accounts.

United Way of Broward County supporters from across the community came out to Women United of Broward County’s 7th Annual Luncheon di Amore to raise $60,000. This year’s beneficiaries are The Children’s Home Society and The Russell Life Skills and Reading Foundation. The event was sponsored by Holy Cross Hospital and hosted by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The luncheon was organized by co-chairs: Lisa Scott-Founds, Caroline Frank and Susan Reneissen.
