The total is a 17% increase from last year.

May 20-26 is National Prevention Week

Our kids need to hear clear and consistent messages about substance abuse to help them make good choices when they find themselves having to make the decision of whether or not use. This is National Prevention Week. There has never been a better time to emphasize the critical role of parents, caregivers, educators, community leaders and other role models in helping to shape these decisions for all youth. Working together, we can prevent substance abuse by being involved in our children’s lives, engaging in continuous dialogue from an early age and being aware.

Holman Automotive Raises Funds for United Way Through Tent Sale

Holman Automotive donated $2,800 to United Way of Broward County from funds raised through vehicle sales at the Holman Pre-owned Center during its tent sale in March. For each preowned car sold during the sale, the company donated $100 to United Way.

United Way Gives Families A Helping Hand During Tax Season

United Way of Broward County, in collaboration with community partners, is proud to offer an Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) program, providing free tax assistance to low-income families in the community. In addition, United Way of Broward County’s Mobile Resource Center, along with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) workers, is touring the county through April 14 in order to reach residents who do not have the ability or means to access accountants nor financial advisors.
