United Way of Broward County Announces the Car Giveaway Winner
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida woman with a giving heart received a generous gift.
Trudy Carrodeguas is this year's United Way car giveaway winner. She received a brand new 2012 Ford Explorer from Pompano Ford.
Holman Automotive provided the car and surprised her at her job in Fort Lauderale. "Winning the car is a shock because this is really something. I've been a United contributor for many years," said Carrodeguas. "United Way does many wonderful things for our community."
Meanwhile, the United Way of Broward County thanked Carrodeguas for her donations. "We organized it here with the manager here at the bank, so the employee did not know we came," said Kathleen Cannon, "and we came, the United Way staff. Obviously, Holman donated the car this year."
This is the 17th year United Way and Holman Automotive Group has donated a car to at least one person who has donated at least $260 a year to the organization.
