Presented by Broward Health, United Way of Broward County’s Women’s Leadership Council hosted its 2nd Annual Magnolia Luncheon on Thursday, November 8 at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six. Emmy award-winning Local 10 News Anchor Laurie Jennings served as the event’s emcee, and Gale Butler of AutoNation and Tanya Bower of Tripp Scott were the event co-chairs.
Honorees Ginny Miller and Bank of America’s Women’s Leadership Donors were recognized for their commitment to and investment in the community, as well as their philanthropic and volunteer efforts. Nearly 300 people were in attendance to support the honorees and United Way of Broward County.
Over the past year, the Women’s Leadership Council has focused on two key United Way initiatives including the ReadingPals early literacy volunteer program and assisting Broward’s military and their families. The luncheon celebrated the group’s successes in helping service members by sending care packages abroad, and recruiting hundreds of ReadingPals volunteers.
