Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Task Group (LGBT)
To provide a forum that will promote dialogue and understanding within the LGBT Community for the purpose of developing and implementing specific strategies to improve the quality of life for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning Community in Broward County.
Guiding Principles:
• Build understanding and mutual respect through safe, open and honest dialogue.
• Promote inclusion and diversity by engaging all demographic groups into the dialogue and process.
• Be committed to the process through consistent participation and attendance.
• Create achievable strategies and action steps.
Areas of Focus:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive census and needs assessment.
2. Promote leadership identification, development and support.
3. Develop long range strategic vision planning with LGBT leaders in and for Broward County.
4. Support LGBTQ youth and families.
5. Promote LGBT friendly work places.
