What is United Way of Broward County?
United Way of Broward County is a nonprofit, charitable 501(c) 3 organization working to advance the common good by focusing on three impact areas; education, health and income. We rely on funds raised from contributors, as well as matching grant dollars from federal and state sources. United Way of Broward County invests in a variety of programs designed to treat root causes of issues facing our community. We are the single largest non-governmental funder of health and human services.
Who governs United Way of Broward County?
United Way of Broward County is governed by a volunteer group of 23 Board of Directors. United Way of Broward County staff also works with key community volunteers to determine how donor contributions can most effectively be invested in local initiatives.

Broward County is setting records –highest unemployment rate in 20 years, double digit increases in homelessness, and overwhelming needs for food. These children and families are relying upon the generosity of people like you to make the difference between hope and despair.
