Transworld Brokers CEO Andy Cagnetta will serve as the Vice Chair.

ReadingPals Seeks Volunteers for 2016-17 School Year

United Way of Broward County recently surprised donor and Margate resident Carlos Agurcia with a brand new 2016 MINI Countryman. For more than 15 years, United Way of Broward County has given a new car to one lucky donor thanks to the generosity of the Holman Automotive Group. Agurcia’s name was entered into a 2016 MINI Countryman giveaway with thousands of other entries from more than 200 South Florida companies who give to United Way of Broward County. Throughout the year, Broward County residents who donated a minimum of $260 (only $5 per week) to United Way of Broward County were entered into a drawing of over 10,000 entrants. Agurcia, who works in the dairy department at the Publix Super Markets distribution center in Deerfield Beach, has consistently donated to United Way of Broward County for the past five years.

United Way Suprises Local Donor with 2016 MINI Countryman

United Way of Broward County is pleased to announce that Leland Liebe will serve as the new Senior Director for MISSION UNITED, the non-profit organization’s community based initiative that supports veterans and their families as they transition from military service back to civilian life. In his role as Senior Director, Liebe will direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of MISSION UNITED, leading efforts to support the initiative's key focus areas, including employment services, legal assistance, financial services, education, health and housing support.

CNN on-air personality, author and motivational speaker Mel Robbins will serve as the keynote speaker at Nova Southeastern University’s Magnolia Luncheon. The annual event, hosted by United Way of Broward County’s Women United, recognizes women of dignity, strength and perseverance. Held at the Hyatt Regency Pier-66 on Wednesday, May 25, this event will honor local women of distinction who have made a lasting impact on our community.

United Way of Broward County Mayors' Gala Honors Veterans and Raises More Than $200,000 for MISSION UNITED

United Way of Broward County hosted the 4th Annual Rock United Battle of the Bands contest on Friday, September 25th at Revolution Live. The rock n’ roll filled evening raised $17,000 for local community initiatives. Additional funds were raised throughout the evening from the “Text to Donate” initiative that will provide 5,700 meals for our neighbors in need.
