A Day for Our Community

Giving Tuesday Offers a Chance to Give Back to Broward County

If Thanksgiving is a day to spend with those we love and Black Friday and Cyber Monday are days to save on gifts for those we love, then what is Giving Tuesday?  It’s a day of giving back to our community during the holiday season – helping those we may not know but who need our support.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform lives, communities and the world. Since its creation in 2012, it has inspired hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.

At United Way of Broward County, Giving Tuesday is a day to provide a hand up, not a handout, to families who are working hard but falling short. It’s a day to join in the fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. It’s a chance to be a part of a bigger movement and a bigger community of caring, giving people.

There are many ways to give back on Giving Tuesday through United Way of Broward County:
•    Sign up as a volunteer
•    Join a United Way committee
•    Share our messages on social media
•    Make a donation and support those who need our help
