Women's History Month: Meet Cathy Donnelly
In honor of Women's History Month we will be highlighting volunteers, advocates and friends of United Way of Broward County throughout the month.
This week, we are highlighting Cathy Donnelly, who we are very excited to honor at this year's Women United Magnolia Luncheon as the Woman of Inspiration.
Cathy Donnelly, Castle Group
What are you involved with at United Way of Broward County and why?
I am a proud Tocqueville member and an avid supporter of all things United. I do my best to support Women United and NextGen United events to ensure success and support MISSION UNITED through CastleCares by collecting backpacks filled with school supplies. I am currently sitting on the Broward Business Council on Homelessness under United Way's leadership.
Which woman inspires you and why?
I am inspired each day by so many women here in our own community who do so much on a daily basis to move the needle for our vulnerable citizens. But because I cannot name them all I would have to say that Melinda Gates is someone I admire, respect and value for her leadership, her commitment to her family and her ability to be her own person when under such a strong force as the Gates Empire. She remains humble, committed to her children and her marriage and manages the responsibility of her role with grace and humility. She is also incredibly smart. I admire that.
What is your favorite thing about being a woman?
As a woman I feel I have a strong emotional intelligence that I find helpful in all aspects of life.
