Community Partnership School Manager

Status: Exempt (grant-funded)

General Description:  This position is responsible for leading the Gulfstream Community Consortium work in the development and expansion of programs for students and families at Gulfstream Academy.  

Primary Job Responsibility & Duties: 

  1. Develop and nurture positive relationships with school administrators and relevant community agencies to operationalize the partnership.
  2. Guide high-quality program development, implementation, and management. 
  3. Partner with school leadership to manage and oversee implementation of a network of services within the school. 
  4. Identify, develop and implement exciting and engaging programming that supports the collective vision of community schools.
  5. Oversee that the program meets all licensing, contractual, quality management and outcome standards and requirements.
  6. Provide supervision and guidance to Coordinators and Volunteers assigned the community school by goal setting, relationship development, strategic partnerships, planning, program analysis and monitoring, and strategic direction.
  7. Act as a liaison between the University of Central Florida and the Community School team.

Other Job Duties:   

  1. Participate in strategic planning with school and community partners.
  2. Develop and market programs that aim to increase educational opportunities and social connections for the students.
  3. Develop and enhance parent involvement in class activities and connecting them with resources when appropriate.
  4. Implement and manage the evaluation and reporting of data from each of the service areas.
  5. Expand opportunities for families and the community at Gulfstream K-8 to attend Adult Education Programs (ESOL, GED, Adult Basic Literacy) at the ELC campus.  
  6. Expand Family Strengthening opportunities for students with families at Gulfstream Academy K-8 through partnership with Hispanic Unity of Florida and Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Family and Community Engagement at the Gulfstream K-8 Campus.
  7. Strengthen Extended Day/Aftercare services with wellness connections through continued partnership with Memorial Hospital at both the Gulfstream Academy K-8 and the ELC site.  
  8. Ensure partnership with other United Way programs are aligned.  
  9. Represent the community school at pertinent meetings and functions. 
  10. Direct contract management activities for program and develop plan for sustainability. 
  11. Participate in fund-raising and grant writing activities. 
  12. Participate in Council on Accreditation (COA) quality improvement process and conduct program performance evaluations.
  13. Develop procedures as related to community schools and partnerships.

  16. Expand Family Strengthening opportunities for students with families at Gulfstream Academy K-8 through partnership with Hispanic Unity of Florida and Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Family and Community Engagement at the Gulfstream K-8 Campus.
  17. Strengthen Extended Day/Aftercare services with wellness connections through continued partnership with Memorial Hospital at both the Gulfstream Academy K-8 and the ELC site.  
  18. Expand partnership with Broward College to include additional adult course options and mentoring/internship opportunities for the students at Gulfstream K-8.
  19. Expand partnership with Memorial Hospital to bring wellness activities and supports to Gulfstream Academy K-8 (beyond extended day opportunities).
  20. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
  21. Due to the leadership role United Way is called upon to play in the community, particularly during times of crisis, it is the expectation that all United Way staff will be fully engaged in the organization's crisis plan and response efforts.

Supervises:  Coordinators and Volunteers

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services/Social Services related field, Five (5) years’ experience in children’s services, education or community health.
  • Strong organization and excellent written and communication skills is required.
  • Fluency in English is required. Bilingual and/or multilingual preferred.  
  • Successful candidate will be required to possess a valid Florida Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
  • One year of Community engagement, program development, and administration experience.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible, organized, and can-do attitude.
  • Proficient skills working with computers and software programs.
  • Must have passion for and commitment to helping students, families and the community succeed.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the school.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately.
