1) Fort Lauderdale Beach Cleanup 

Saturday, March 11th 
8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
 
300 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. (Intersection of Las Olas and A1A)

In collaboration with NextGen United and Tobacco Free Partnership of Broward, our Broward Youth Coalition invites you to join us as we keep our beaches clean while having fun! Families are welcome to attend.

Items to Note:

  • Attendees should be at least 8 years of age (adults must accompany minors)
  • Wear appropriate attire: t-shirts and shorts are acceptable
  • Wear closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops). Bring a hat, sunscreen and water
  • Pre-registration not required
  • Middle and High School students receive community service hours

2) Gardening and BBQ day with Law Enforcement Officers  

Monday, March 20th
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
 
Gulfstream Academy of Hallandale Beach K-8, 1000 SW 3rd St, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009
*Pre-registration is required (For middle and high school students only)


Join us as we spend the day with local law enforcement officers for a gardening beautification project! Did we mention there will be BBQ?

Items to Note:

  • To register, you must be a Broward Student in grades 6th to 12th
  • First come, first served 
  • Community service hours are available 
  • Lunch is provided 
  • Please note that your clothing may get dirty while gardening
    • Hats and sunscreen are encouraged
    • All participants will receive a free pair of sunglasses

3) Broward Youth Coalition (BYC) Student-led fun day

Tuesday, March 21st
12:00 PM - 5:30 PM
 
Fort Lauderdale Main Library, First Floor - Multipurpose Room,100 S Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301
*Pre-registration required


Join us for a day full of mindfulness activities, youth sessions on substance use prevention, mental health awareness, an interactive storytelling workshop AND Zumba dancing!

Items to Note:

  • To register, you must be a Broward Student in grades 6th to 12th
  • Please arrive by 11:50 AM
  • Lunch is included
  • Students will get a free t-shirt and prizes this day
  • Students will receive community service hours

  • We encourage students to be dropped off as parking is $3 an hour. For those who need to park for MORE than a few minutes - the closest (attached on the 2nd floor to the library) is Riverwalk Center Garage, located at 150 SE 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. PayByPhone app

 


4) All I want is to Fit In” an Interactive Sociodrama about Peer Pressure

Wednesday, March 22nd
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
 
Nova Southeastern University, Mailman Hollywood Building – 2nd Floor Auditorium
3301 College Avenue, Davie, FL 33314

*Pre-registration required

This educational theater program will focus on three scenarios that examine peer pressure and its explanations and consequences. Specific topics will include shoplifting, vaping and substance use. 

Items to Note:

  • The performance will start at 1:30PM and will last about an hour
  • Broward middle and high school students will receive community service hours
  • Families are welcome (Children must be ages 10 and older)
  • Please note that you are responsible for & MUST pay for parking ($1.00/hr) to avoid risking a parking ticket

5) Mental Health and yoga on the Farm

Friday, March 24th
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
 
The Lucky Horse Sanctuary, 4250 NW 43rd Street, Coconut Creek, FL 33073

Join us for painting, outdoor yoga and mindfulness activities with animals while connecting with other teens at Florida’s largest therapeutic farm!

Items to Note:

  • Please arrive at 12:45 PM for sign-in
  • You MUST bring a beach towel and a printed and signed parent waiver with you in addition to registering

  • For 6th-12th graders only

  • Students will receive community service hours

  • Dress comfortably in clothes you don't mind getting dirty

  • Event is rain or shine
