Presented by United Way of Broward County's Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention's Mental Health Promotion Action Team 


Join us for a free, interactive training to better understand and learn strategies to prevent compassion fatigue, stress, and burnout in your everyday life. This workshop will feature an expert presentation and hands-on chair yoga and mindfulness instruction. It’s ideal for those working in the mental and behavioral health space as providers, peers, advocates, caregivers, and other helpers.

Elizabeth Veras—Mindfulness Instructor:

She is a trained group facilitator, speaker, and presenter with experience in trauma-informed counseling, education, and human resources. Fully bilingual, she brings wellbeing to children, teens, adults, seniors, and workplaces all over the globe! She is a Certified Practitioner and Faculty/Supervisor with The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, Certified Yoga for Youth Educator, Certified Brain Fitness Educator, Certified Yoga Nidra Instructor, Reiki Master, and Traditional Medicine Practitioner.


Cathy Whitt—Chair Yoga Instructor:

Certified in Yoga and Pilates, she has been teaching students and adults in the Broward County School District in-person and via distance-learning. As a certified Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach, health and wellness are a priority in her life, and it’s her mission to share her beliefs with the public. Her approach is to make it personal and fun to make adopting healthy habits an easy adjustment.
