About the Event
United Way of Broward County's Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention's Community Response Team invites you to join us on a Zoom for a Virtual Panel Discussion and Short Film Premiere
A Story of Syringe Services In Your Town
There were 3,834 opioid-related overdose deaths in Florida in just the first six months of 2020, including 692 in Broward County. Accepting that not everyone is ready or able to stop risky or illegal behavior, harm reduction focuses on promoting scientifically proven ways of mitigating health risks associated with substance use. Syringe services participants are five times more likely to enter substance use treatment than non-participants.
Let's join the conversation about the importance of embracing science and kindness over judgment and neglect. This is a FREE virtual event.
This event is intended for mature audiences only. View discretion is advised.
