Understanding Anticipatory Grief for Healthcare Professionals

About the Event

United Way of Broward County Invites You to Join Us for a Virtual Training
Topic: Understanding Anticipatory Grief for Healthcare Professionals
Presented by: Stacey Balkanski, LCSW, LLC.

During this training, we will focus on grief and loss as it relates to chronic and terminal illnesses, along with grief around divorce, job loss, surgeries and major life changes. Anticipatory grief is a term that refers to feelings of grief prior to an actual loss. Often, we refer to these as the “small losses” that occur as someone’s health declines and they lose certain cognitive or physical abilities such as driving, feeding themselves, physical mobility and memory loss to name a few.
