United Way of Broward County’s Young Leaders Society is hosting Rock United, the organization’s first-ever battle of the bands. The event will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Revolution Live from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Each participating band will have the opportunity to play three songs on the main stage, and cover songs are encouraged. Song selections will be reviewed prior to the event and participating bands will be selected by August 1, 2012.

Bands of all genres are welcome to participate in the contest and are encouraged to raise $1,000 in support of United Way of Broward County. All proceeds will benefit United Way of Broward County’s Community Investment Fund which directly impacts those in Broward County who are most in need. Funds raised by each band can be provided by corporate donations, individual donations or by selling tickets to the event.

Tickets to event are $15 if purchased in advance on United Way of Broward County’s website, and $20 at the door. Sponsorships are also available.

Rock United sponsors include SayfieReview, The Mergis Group, JM Family Enterprises, Inc., Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC, Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, Inc., and Publix Super Markets Charities.
