United Way of Broward County is pleased to announce that it has named Jon Ferrando, Executive Vice President - General Counsel, Corporate Development and Human Resources of AutoNation, Inc.; as the new Vice Chair of its Board of Directors and has added four new Board Members, effective July 1, 2014. Matt Katz, Managing Partner of the Ft. Lauderdale office of Katz Barron Squitero Faust; Andy Cagnetta, CEO of Transworld Business Advisors; Stephen Moss, Partner with Holland & Knight; and Lori Chevy, Senior Vice President/Market President-Broward with Bank of America, are the new Board members.

Jon Ferrando currently serves as Executive Vice President - General Counsel, Corporate Development and Human Resources for the Fort Lauderdale-based Fortune 500 Company, AutoNation, Inc. He joined the AutoNation team in 1996 and was appointed General Counsel in January 2000 and assumed responsibility for the human resources function in September 2004 and the corporate development function in March 2011.. Ferrando is an avid community member and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Discovery & Science. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and serves on its Policy and Political Councils.
Matt Katz, Managing Partner of the Ft. Lauderdale Office for Katz Barron Squitero Faust, focuses his practice on corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, finance, and renewable and beneficial reuse development. He has been involved with United Way of Broward County for a number of years including currently serving as a member of United Way of Broward County Tocqueville Society Steering Committee. He also served in 2012-2013 as Chair of its Annual Development Campaign and as a Member of the Board of Ambassadors. Presently, he also serves on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of Broward County and is a member of Broward Workshop.
Andy Cagnetta is the CEO of Transworld Business Advisors, LLC, the number one business brokerage in the State of Florida and nationwide Franchisor. Cagnetta has been passionately involved in the community since moving to Hollywood, Florida in 1994 and has served on the Board of Directors for various organizations, including United Way of Broward County. Currently he is the Vice President of the Business Brokers of Florida; Board Member for Broward Workshop; Junior Achievement of South Florida; Board Member for Florida Community Hospital Network; and is a Board Member for Security on Campus.
Stephen Moss is a Partner at Holland & Knight in Fort Lauderdale and practices in the areas of real property development, hotel development and operations, title insurance, and business law. Having lived in South Florida for over 40 years, Moss believes in being an active community member. He is the presently Chair of United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED Advisory Council. His past leadership roles include: Chair of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce; Co-Founder and Co-Chair of Broward Child Welfare Initiative; Board of Directors of Legal Aid Service of Broward County, Inc.; Development Partnership Council of the South Florida Wildlife Center; and Board of Directors of the Broward County Chapter of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association.
Lori Chevy is the Market President of Broward and Market Executive for Business Banking in Broward County for Bank of America. Chevy joined the company in 1984 and throughout the years has held various managerial and leadership positions. As a life-long South Florida resident, she believes in giving back to the community and supporting various organizations. Currently, Chevy is a board member of Broward Center for the Performing Arts and the Broward Workshop; Executive Sponsor for the South Florida BPG employee network; and a member of Bank of America South Florida PRIDE network. She has been actively involved with United Way of Broward County for many years and was the inaugural co-chair, and current member, of United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council.
