Please help Children’s Week put 5,000 free books into children’s hands in the next two months! Simply by reading free books online at the We Give Books digital library, you can help us give books to children in need throughout the State of Florida. Visit the United Way of Florida page on the We Give Books website and read a book today!! It only takes 5 minutes…..After seeing how easy and fun it can be, and that all the resources at We Give Books are free, keep reading with the children in your care and tell your friends to visit the website and read a book with their children. Just by sharing the joy of reading with a child in your life, you can help us help children even more through Children's Week. Please distribute the flier far-and-wide and help the Pearson Foundation and Children's Week share the importance of literacy and giving! For more, see below…..

This year, local Children’s Week events and Children’s Week at the Capitol are more important than ever. Legislators are considering deeper cuts to services for children and families than ever before. We need your support!

In addition to participating in your local events and coming to Tallahassee (visit the Children's Week website to find out all about it!) we need your help to get 5,000 free books into the hands of young children to show we can mobilize and truly make good things happen for our kids. We all know that early literacy is one of the foundations for life-long learning. We have this wonderful opportunity because the Pearson Foundation, which has joined Children’s Week as our Literacy Partner, is generously providing 5,000 free books for young children around the state. The books will be distributed during the We Give Books ReadMobile Tour stops and local Children’s Week events and at Children’s Week in the Capitol.

Please visit the WE GIVE BOOKS website and read a book and see how easy it is to access books that you can read with a child any time, any where. Then, read a book with the children in your care, and spread the word (use the flier ) to everyone you know about this fantastic opportunity. It only takes a few minutes. These are quality children's books that are being made available by Penguin Young Readers. Many of the books are classics and are fun and vividly colorful, and your children and the children in your care will love them! For every book that is read on line, a child in need in Florida will receive a free book to read from the Pearson Foundation… Read today and read often!! Thanks so much for your support of Children’s Week and the children in your care and around the state. Attached is a flier you can distribute far-and-wide to friends, neighbors, parents of children you serve and anyone else who will get on line and read a book with a child.
