On Monday, November 21st United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED distributed more than 350 Thanksgiving meals to Broward County Veterans, Active Military, National Guard and Reservists. The event served as a thank you to Broward County’s Veterans and Active-Duty Military members as they celebrate Thanksgiving with their families.
Meals were distributed to the Military personnel/veterans and their families via “drive-thru” style in United Way of Broward County’s parking lot and included items such as stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn bread and a gift card for a protein of their choice.
Kathleen Cannon, President and CEO of United Way of Broward County, James Heaton, Senior Director of United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED, Maria Hernandez, Chief Program Officer of United Way of Broward County, Danielle Doss, Vice President of Community Impact – Financial Prosperity of United Way of Broward County and Major League Soccer players Alex Freeman (Orlando City), Ian Fray (Inter Miami) and Kai Thomas (FC Cincinnati) joined staff and volunteers to distribute the Thanksgiving meals
