The Importance of Your Vote

Untitled%20design.png2020 is an important year for America’s democracy, with critical resources and political representation at stake. From building awareness of the U.S. Census to activating voter registration, civic engagement is at the heart of what United Way of Broward County does.

We know solving the health, economic and social crises in our country means that people need to be civically engaged. Policymakers must take action that will help workers, children and families, and work to achieve equity for Black and Indigenous people and People of Color.

We believe helping people become active in civic society is vital to creating strong, healthy and resilient communities. Elections matter, especially local elections.

At United Way of Broward County, we hope to foster the kind of inclusive democracy where real grievances can be addressed in a healthy and effective manner to facilitate lasting change. In the wake of George Floyd’s murder, we recommit ourselves to working with partners in our community to conduct nonpartisan voter engagement with our partners. In doing so, we aim to ensure more Americans are registered and ready to vote this fall and the many elections to follow.
