Candlelight Homeless Persons Memorial
12/10/2024 | 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Every year, hundreds of community members come together for the Candlelight Homeless Persons Memorial. This year, we honor the memories of individuals who passed away in 2024: people who died while experiencing homelessness.
This year, we invite you to join us in remembering, reflecting, and serving as a volunteer at the Homeless Memorial in Broward County.
Date: December 10, 2024
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: First Methodist Church in Fort Lauderdale.
The Homeless Memorial is a powerful event that brings together advocates, community members, and service providers to recognize the dignity of those who have lost their lives due to homelessness, while also raising awareness about the ongoing struggle for affordable housing and resources for the homeless. The event will feature a ceremony to honor the deceased, share personal stories, and provide information on resources available to individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering at the Homeless Memorial is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals in our community. As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to:
- Support a meaningful cause: Honor the lives of those lost to homelessness and help raise awareness about the ongoing need for systemic change.
- Provide assistance: Help with event setup, registration, guiding attendees, distributing materials, or supporting the ceremony.
- Engage with the community: Join with other volunteers, local leaders, and advocates who are dedicated to ending homelessness in Broward County.
