Topic: CBT for Suicide Prevention

This course provides a CBT informed approach to treating clients who are struggling with suicidal ideation Clinicians will understand the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy case conceptualization, and emphasis will be placed on learning to use the cognitive therapy model to identify risk and protective factors as well as signs and symptoms for suicidality Participants are taught how to apply cognitive therapy techniques at different levels of care, including outpatient therapy, PHP, and residential treatment. All course materials and examples will emphasize suicide assessment and prevention.
Learning Objectives:
– Apply the cognitive therapy case conceptualization and theory to individuals
experiencing suicidal ideation
– Implement specific CBT techniques when providing treatment in myriad levels
of care for suicide assessment and prevention
– Integrate CBT with other approaches to treatment
