Our Staff Shares Their Resolutions for the New Year— What’s Yours?

And 4 Reasons Why Sharing Your Goals with Others Makes a Difference

Happy New Year from all of us at United Way of Broward County!

The New Year is a special time of having hope, feeling renewal and making resolutions. Maybe this year some of us will make the changes we’ve been planning — more rest, better eating habits, more exercise, new routines, different activities, personal or professional growth.

New Year’s Day is about taking a moment to get ready for everything we envision for our lives — and it’s the perfect time to commit to change. An ancient Chinese proverb states: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”

Watch this video as the diverse staff at our United Way plans to bring positivity into both their personal lives and the people around us:

Did you know sharing your resolutions with others increases the probability of achieving these goals? People who enlisted friends to help them with their goals succeeded nearly 75% of the time.

Here are 4 reasons why telling other people about goals helps.

  • You can gain more clarity about what you want to achieve and when.
  • Other people can hold you accountable.
  • You increase your support network because people want to help you.
  • You will have extra motivation.

What are the resolutions you plan to make for 2024? Post your resolution on your social channels and then use the hashtags #LiveUnitedBroward and #UWBCResolutions2024.
