Training Overview:
The emotional strain of working in the helping professions can lead to burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma. These challenges affect staff well-being, job satisfaction, and effectiveness, and can contribute to increased staff turnover and strain in both professional and personal lives.
This experiential workshop explores a three-layered approach to staff care: organizational, professional, and personal. Participants will learn practical strategies to recognize and manage burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma, while also strengthening workplace cultures that support staff well-being.
This training is designed to help organizations build healthier environments for the people who do this important work every day.
Who Should Attend
This training is designed for all staff working in the helping professions, including leadership, program staff, support staff, and interns. All staff and interns are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
• Describe the difference between burnout, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue • Complete self-assessments to better understand their levels of compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and self-care • Identify strategies for staff care at the organizational, professional, and personal levels
