“United is the Way” Is the Theme for 2025’s Rebranding Initiative
by Kathleen Cannon, LCSW, President and CEO at United Way Broward
In 2025, United Way Broward and most other United Ways are turning the page — on a new chapter and on an entirely new way to tell our story. With a refreshed visual identity, a redesigned website, and a renewed commitment to community impact, United Way Broward’s rebrand conveys a strong statement: We’re evolving to meet the moment, and we’re bringing everyone with us.
The rebranding effort, unveiled under the campaign theme “United Is the Way,” reflects the evolving role of all United Ways to address today’s pressing challenges. Reaching over 1,800 affiliates in tens of thousands of communities, United Way’s refreshed brand will unify, energize, and elevate our mission.
Our brand refresh is anchored in four key impact areas that define United Way’s work:
Healthy Community — improving health and well-being for all through
- healthcare access
- care coordination
- substance-use prevention
- mental health wellness and suicide prevention
- behavioral health training and capacity building
Youth Opportunity — helping young people realize their full potential through
- literacy development
- in-school, after-school, and summer learning
- childcare services
- bullying prevention
- college- and career-readiness
- family engagement
- civic engagement
Financial Security — creating a stronger financial future for every generation through
- food and nutrition security
- affordable housing, transitional housing, and services
- emergency assistance and homelessness-prevention services
- financial literacy, personal finance education, workforce development, and job placement
Community Resiliency — addressing urgent needs today for a better tomorrow though
- policy and advocacy
- government relations
- 211/first response for help
- disaster recovery
For more than 85 years, United Way Broward has been an incredible force for good across our community. As the world has changed, so have the needs of the people we serve. United Way’s new brand identity is a vibrant, forward-looking reflection of the work we do and the people we serve. Features of the new brand include:
- a redesigned logo retaining the iconic hand and rainbow motif but with cleaner lines, bolder colors, and a more inclusive feel
- an updated color palette reflecting energy and optimism — with hues inspired by communities around the world
- updated typography and visual elements that are accessible, mobile-friendly, and digitally native
Alongside the rebrand, we’ve launched a completely redesigned website with intuitive navigation, storytelling-driven content, and easier ways for you to get involved. This website is a platform for mobilizing change, amplifying voices, and building stronger communities together. Here’s what’s new:
- Streamlined navigation: Whether you’re looking to donate, find help, or learn more about our work, you’ll find what you need faster.
- Storytelling-driven design: Real voices, real faces, real impact. Our new site features powerful stories from the people and communities we serve.
- Accessibility: We’ve prioritized design with improved readability, screen-reader compatibility, and multilingual support.
- Action-oriented tools: From one-click donations to volunteer sign-ups, we’ve made it easier to turn inspiration into action.
Whether you’re a long-time supporter, a first-time volunteer, or someone who’s benefited from United Way’s programs, United Way’s global and local rebrand will:
- Make it easier to connect with the causes you care about, such as early childhood education or disaster relief
- Highlight stories of revitalization and impact from people in your own community
- Empower you to act, with clearer calls to action, mobile-friendly tools, and more ways to give, advocate, and volunteer
This rebrand is just the beginning. United Way Broward will continue to innovate solutions, listen, and adapt because the work of building equitable, resilient communities never is finished. We’re investing in new technologies, deepening our partnerships, and expanding our reach to ensure everyone can rise and thrive
We invite you to explore the new United Way — and please support our community by:
- making a donation
- volunteering your time
- connecting with one of Leadership Giving Networks — Tocqueville Society, Women United, and NextGen United
- launching a workplace campaign or becoming a corporate sponsor
Because when we live by the principle of “United Is the Way,” we are envisioning and building a better world.
